Hello everyone! Its been a while but I'm back! I've been busy with collge classes and finals so I was focused on that.

But know that I have free time again I can focus on my projects that have been procrastinating on.

One of the things I haven't been doing lately was drawing. Part of the reason was I didn't have a good enough device to do art on. I was using Ibis Paint X on my android tablet which is a Dooge T40 and that was ok for a while. I had a subcription to have more cloud storage so that I could protect my art work (I had issues of losing collections of artwork when moving to new devices). But while trying to move away from using Google so much I realized that my subcription was holding me back and I shouldn't have to pay just to protect my artwork so I moved over to the android version of Krita.

Krita android works best with devices that come with a stylus and have palm rejection. With my basic tablet what wasnt made for not taking and drawing, the program was so sensitve to touch compared to Ibis Paint and it demotivated me. I was not gonna spend $600+ on a new tablet though. I do have my ipad but there is not enough space on it and I don't like using it that much. So I decided to test if my old Wacom Intos screenless tablet I had for years would work and it did...kinda.

It was years old and was the first drawing tablet I ever had. It wasnt created to use with android devices though and the surface area was too small. I have wrist and arm pain the past year or so now and I'm not about to make that worse.

So I went searching for a new bigger screenless tablet to use that would work well with my android tablet. My research lead to me finding out about the XP Pen Deco 01 V3. After watching some reviews on Youtube I decided to buy it for about $50. This was one of the best purchases I have ever made!

Getting the express keys to work on my tablet was a little wierd. Some keys didn't have any keyboard mappings on it. One review said to download the xp pen app for the drawing tablet and I was under the impresson that I could change the express key keybinds in it. Nope. It only change the screen mapping. I didn't like they screen mapping options on there. The mappings only allowed for partial mapping of the tablet and not the whole area when in landscape mode. The whole point of me getting this tablet was to have a bigger area to draw on so I ended up not using it.

I tried downloading the drivers on my laptop and hooking the tablet to it to see if I can change the express key mappings and it sorta worked. It didn't change the default android mappings when connecting to android but it did add keybinds to the blank ones though! One of the buttons on the pen didn't change though. But I worked around it.

Once I noticed that the blank express keys were now filled I changed the keybinds for zooming in and out, and showing the pop up pallet to the epress key binds and I was fully able to controll everything without having to touch the android tablet!

And drawing on it is so good! The tablet comes with a cover that is a bit scratchy to make it feel a bit like paper and I put it on there. Years ago I would have never thought it would be possible to have this experience on an android tablet! I thought it was limited to only pc or laptop! I'm so glad I found this drawing tablet!

I had got the Dooge T40 becuase it had a crap ton of space on it (512 GB) and I'm a file goblin so I needed as much space as possible. I bought it for about $200, the case for it was about $17. So with my android tablet, the case, and the Deco 01 V3 its about $270 dollars, which is much cheaper than the prices for the fancy samsung tablets, ipads, and standalone tablets from xppen or other art tablet companies I was seeing. I know there was the Picasso Tab but I had a bad experience with it and that's a rant for another time ^^'

ANYWAYS!!

I've been drawing fanart for Sebbediah's Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream Series and I've just been having fun drawing again! Here is what I have done so far. I'm still in the sketching stage.

I hope y'all have a good day! Stay safe and also HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!!!
